UNILIT 25 (TD 13 P)
LIGHTWEIGHT MORTAR DESCRIPTION
UNILIT
25 is a dry, premixed lightweight mortar based on expanded volcanic mineral
deposits (of varying granule sizes) and natural hydraulic lime.
This
natural product has excellent vapour permeability qualities which promote the
migration of moisture and humidity from within the structure.
UNILIT
25 is particularly suited for application onto thermal blockwork and will
prevent all known causes of dampness by its natural ability to be able to
control the level of moisture retained within the structure.
This quality is further augmented by superior thermal, mechanical and
adhesive properties. APPLICATION
UNILIT
25 can be used in both new construction and renovation.
Irrespective of whether used internally or externally it will regulate
the moisture content present within the walls and will prevent the occurrence of
mortar joint lines appearing in the render finish. By
its use the specifier ensures the elimination of cold bridging or damage to the
structure by thermal shock. TECHNICAL PROPERTIES

Beige PREPARATION
The
substrate must be free of all traces of oil and grease. When the substrate has
been treated with an impregnating product (silicones and similar) it is
recommended to consult the supplier or manufacturer. UNILIT
25 is mixed with clean water. Dependent
on the temperature and the substrate 5 to 6 litres of water is added to a 25 kg
of powder. The mixing must be done
mechanically either by a concrete mixer or a paddle whisk, for 3 to 5 minutes. The
lightweight mortar can be applied either manually or by mechanical means on damp
or dry surfaces. If the substrate
is very dry or extreme drying conditions exist the substrate should be dampened
down prior to coating. UNILIT
25 lightweight mortar remains workable for up to two hours and can be applied in
temperatures from 5°C to 40°C. The
drying period is between 24-48 hours in normal conditions, after which time
overcoating with silicate paint or UNILIT finishes or lime paint can be
undertaken. For silicate paint a
drying period of 2 to 3 weeks must be respected. Protect from frost for 48-72
hours after its application. Basements
and other areas susceptible to rising damp must be treated with the UNILIT 30
mortar. The use of stainless brick
mesh is recommended where there is a likelihood of structural movement. PACKING

kg bags REMARKS
In
case of doubt regarding the substrate, consult our technical service department. The material must be stored dry and frost free above ground.
The maximum storage time is 6 months.
Our advice and information is given in good faith and depending on the
latest developments of our products. We
guarantee the constant quality of our products, but do not accept any liability
concerning the application. !!
The product may not come into contact with the surfaces below ground level !!
