KEIM
CONTACT (PLUS)
Description
Keim Contact and Keim Contact Plus are ready-mixed products, based on liquid silicate with addition of mineral aggregates of irregular granulometry. Application
Keim Contact is applied as a bonding layer on irregular and cracked substrates. Keim
Contact Plus can be
applied as a filler on a substrate, already painted with oil or dispersion
paints. Preparation of the substrate
Keim
Contact and Keim
Contact Plus are applied on a clean, dust-free and fat-free porous
substrate. -
clean polluted substrates with high-pressured water.
-
remove former synthetic paint layers, if in bad condition.
- brush and dust pulverized substrates. -
natural stone has to be repaired with a mineral mortar.
-
masonry and joints, loose renders and plasters have to be repaired with Unilit-mortars
(natural hydraulic lime). Use
Keim Contact and Keim Contact Plus, diluted with 10 à 30% Keim Speciaalfixatief, evenly applied with a brush or a paint roller. After at least 5 hours, the next of paint coat is applied. The workability of the product is enhanced by a preceding stirring of the silicate paint. Precautions
Do
not apply Keim Contact and Keim
Contact Plus in harsh weather conditions like rain, frost or in direct
sunlight. In case of rain, the
substrate has to be protected before painting.
Keim Contact and Keim Contact Plus can not be applied at air or superficial
temperatures lower then 5°C or
above 25°C. Protect surfaces, which do not have to be painted. In case of contact: immediately rinse abundantly with water.
