Natural marble finish

DESCRIPTION

Marmolux is a marble finish made from lime putty, carefully selected powdered marble and vegetable additives.  Its porous structure means Marmolux is vapour-permeable.

The surface has a smooth, shiny and marble-like appearance of high aesthetic quality.

APPLICATIONS

Because of its properties and qualities Marmolux is suitable both for restoring old, historical buildings and in modern architecture.

Marmolux is frost-resistant and can be used indoors or out.

TECHNICAL PROPERTIES

Coverage                     0.5 to 1 kg/m²

Specific density            1.7 kg/dm³

Drying time                  7 to 8 hours, depending on weather conditions

                                   Fully hardened after 6 to 9 months

BASE

Marmolux should preferably be applied to a fine lime mortar, without a bonding coat.  It can also be used on a cement or gypsum base.

 USE

Before applying Marmolux, the base should be dampened down slightly prior to overcoating.  Marmolux is ready to use but should be stirred first.  Apply with a stainless steel plastering trowel to a thickness of max. 0.2 to 0.3 mm.  Apply the second coat, also to a max. Thickness of 0.2 to 0.3 mm, before the first coat is completely dry.  Apply firm pressure to this coat, using criss-cross movements.  Repeat pressure several times, depending on the required appearance (smooth or satin). Once the Marmolux coats are dry, start to polish with a clean stainless steel plastering trowel.  For a perfectly smooth surface finish, polish once again with a woollen cloth.

PACKAGING

25 kg and 5 kg plastic buckets.

NOTES

Marmolux should be stored in a cool, dry place, at temperatures above 3°C.  The product will then keep for an unlimited period in its original packaging and will retain its properties.  Once opened, the packaging should be hermetically sealed again after use.

In the event of direct contact with the skin : wash thoroughly with soap and water.  In the event of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice.  Keep out of reach of children.
