 Description

Keim Purkristalat is a 100% mineral silicate paint in powder form, after standards DIN 18363 and AFNOR 30808 Famille 1 – Classe 1b2. 

Application

Keim Purkristalat is suitable for repainting and restoration of non-painted lime, bastard and cement renders and plasters, with a minium thickness of 5mm.  The product is applicable on inside as well as on outside walls.

Preparation of the substrate

Keim Purkristalat is applied on a clean, dust-free, fat-free and porous and absorbing substrate. 

*     Cleaning of polluted substrates (dust, salts) with high-pressured water, scraping or brushing. 

*     On strongly absorbing substrates, a layer of  Keim Fixativ has to be applied, diluted with 1 or 2 volumes of water.

*     On irregular or instable substrates, a primer coat has to be applied, composed of 10kg Kristal-felsitt, 5kg Purkristalat and 4l Fixativ.  This mixture has to be diluted with  4l Fixativ.

Use

Keim Purkristalat can be applied with a brush, paint roller, airless (0.66-0.79mm) or a spray equipment.  By use of a spray equipment, please mention this on your order form. 

The first layer consist of a mixture with the following proportions : 5kg Purkristalat + 5kg Kristal-Felsitt + 4l Fixativ, all diluted with 6l Fixativ.

The second coat consists of 5kg Purkristalat + 4l Fixativ (which has to be mixed 24 hours before application). 

A new layer can be applied 12 hours after application of the former coat (at 20°C). 

Precautions

Avoid applying Keim Purkristalat in harsh weather conditions like rain, frost or direct sunlight.  In case of rainy conditions, protect the surface, that has to be paint.  Keim Purkristalat cannot be applied when temperatures below 5°C or above 25°C are expected. 

Cover surfaces which will not be paint.  In case of contact : rinse with water. 

Colours

Keim Purkristalat is available in all colours of the Keim colour chart.

Keim Purkristalat can be coloured as desired with Keim colour concentrates.

Storage

12 months in the original and closed tubs, in a dry, cool but frost-free space, at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.

Remarks

In case of doubt regarding the substrate, consult our technical service department.  The material must be stored dry and frost free above ground.  Our advice and information is given in good faith and depending on the latest developments of our products.
